The main aim of Hollywood Classics is to make available and promote an appreciation of classic films, modern masterpieces and cult favourites.
 

Opened for business in 1984, Hollywood Classics is a London-based company with satellite representatives in Germany, Italy, Japan and the USA.

Hollywood Classics proudly represents the classic film libraries of Universal Studios, Paramount Pictures, Twentieth Century Fox, Warner Bros., as well as a large number of films from independent producers such as Alberto Grimaldi, Ignite Films and British Screen Finance (British Film Institute). Hollywood Classics provides a unique service marketing and distributing the rights of classic films enabling thousands of films to be shown throughout the world to cinema audiences, who otherwise may never have the opportunity of seeing them in the medium for which they were originally intended.

Hollywood Classics also distributes a growing number of studio classic films for the DVD markets as well as a library of over 700 (mostly European) films for television, DVD and VOD.

Hollywood Classics offers the following rights for the titles in ther catalogue: theatrical long-term and single / festival screenings; digital cinema rights; home entertainment, television and new media. These rights are available to exhibitors, distributors, broadcasters and VOD platforms worldwide.

In August 2011, the owner of Hollywood Classics, Joe Dreier decided it was the right time for him to sell the company to Metrodome Group plc. Joe had a relationship with Metrodome and decided that this was the best home for his company in order that it could continue to grow and develop.

Metrodome appointed Peter Urie as the CEO of Hollywood Classics, who was joined on the board by Mark Webster, Metrodome’s Chairman and Steve Winetroube, Metrodome’s COO.

Joe Dreier continues in a consultancy capacity to work with Peter and the Hollywood Classics team.

Hollywood Classics now operates from within Metrodome’s Headquarters  in Edgware Road London.
